World Economic Forum chooses Costa Rica as #1

According to the World Economic Forum, Costa Rica is the most competitive tourism destination in Latin America. The country received this high distinction as the first country in Latin America and classified in position #42 among 133 nations that were considered. The country has risen two ranks since last year.

The study emphasized these strong areas:

• Ambient sustainability, natural resources, biodiversity and protected areas.

• Human resources & qualified labor force.

• Tourism Culture (Population reception toward tourism).

• Government priority towards tourism and its sector, effective marketing & positioning.

• Transparency on the information regarding investment and tourism income.

• Infrastructure, education and capacitating of the tourism industry.
